Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL)- Lunch with Judge Kwan

At a recent brown-bag lunch co-hosted by the Young Lawyers Division of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL YLD), attorneys and young professionals gathered for a lively discussion of emerging trends in business litigation with active Los Angeles Superior Court judicial officer, the Honorable Ruth A. Kwan.

The event, co-produced by Michael Alfera of Weinberg Gonser LLP, offered actionable insights to young attorneys and underscored our firm’s active engagement in the legal community.

Michael brings a unique vantage point to the discussion. Prior to joining Weinberg Gonser, he served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Kwan in the Los Angeles Superior Court and then for the Honorable Otis D. Wright II in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

Michael’s dual-perspective experience strengthens the firm’s value to its clients.  For clients facing business disputes, partner break-ups, or complex contract litigation, this sort of insight into how Courts think makes a real difference.

Weinberg Gonser has long built its reputation on more than just credentialed attorneys.  It cultivates business-savvy, relationship-oriented litigators who view their relationship with clients in terms of years, not billable hours.

The firm’s involvement with ABTL serves two purposes: it keeps us at the forefront of litigation trends and debate, and it fosters relationships across the bench and bar that frequently translate into strategic advantages for clients.

For those seeking incisive, litigation-ready counsel, Weinberg Gonser offers both rigorous advocacy and smart business sense. We’d welcome the opportunity to explore how our courtroom experience, business-first approach, and strategic perspective can position you for success.
